- USP - Fear, Bankable actors - attractive woman in leading role, reliable horror film male actor - will draw in audiences.
- much emphasis on the horror Genre - suspenseful music etc - horror movie conventions played up to attract audiences to go and see the film.
- many of the clips shown are not in the actual film - doesn't give too much away but still attracts audiences.
- active audience - requires you to think about whats happening.
- passive audience however, as many watch to be scared and so the storyline is fairly weak.
- three stages of horror films shown in trailer as well - 1. opening 2. an event, which changes everything 3. the main bulk of the scares/thrills.
- revealed name of film at beginning and at the end - importance/significance.
